Rebecca R. Remick, 91, of Methuen, passed away on October 4th, 2016 at Penacook Place Nursing Home, Haverhill MA.

Rebecca was born in West Terre Haute IN and moved to Washington DC during World War II.  She worked as a Fingerprint Analyst/Examiner for the Federal Bureau of Investigation.  Rebecca was lauded for her exemplary work in identifying a dangerous criminal by the Director of the FBI, J. Edgar Hoover.

Rebecca came to Andover MA to visit an uncle and she met Laurence A. “Larry” Remick.  A trip to Hampton Beach led to a short courtship and a marriage.

Soon two children, David J. and Ruth A., joined the Remick family and Rebecca devoted her life to her family.  When the kids were older, Rebecca returned to the workforce and was employed for several years at Malden Mills and Oxford Paper Company in their planning and production scheduling offices.

Rebecca loved to cook. When the new Methuen Junior High School was built in the mid1960’s, Rebecca became the assistant to the food service director for several years.

After Larry’s retirement, they spent many years traveling to Scotland, England, Germany, and Italy visiting with David and his family.   Other visits to family members throughout the United States produced many wonderful memories.

Rebecca is survived by her husband of 69 years, Larry, her son David J. and his wife Linda S. and their children Jakob B. of Jonesboro GA and Reanna E. of Jacksonville FL, and her daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and William Lowes of Bradford MA. Rebecca is also survived by Ethel Mae of New Mexico, the last of her five sisters and many nieces and nephews.
