As many of you know, Eleanore was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Methuen Memorial Music Hall. She served as a Trustee for 30 years, and was recently elevated to our Honorary Council.
She chaired various committees, including Finance, Development and Restoration Fund.
In thinking back to interfacing with Eleanore prior to the time when her eyesight failed and her mind wavered, certain words and phrases come to mind. These include:
“feisty”
“take no prisoners”
“get to the point”
“stop beating around the bush”
“we haven’t got all night”
Eleanore’s management background was clearly evident to us. She helped all of us on the Board stay focused.
Now, I bet that she is barking at Saint Peter and the rest of the Apostles. We will all miss her. Rest is peace my friend.

My father Robert Christensen went through school with Miss Porter. The Christensen's lived on Greenfield Street and The Porter's on Osgood Street. Growing up we were told to address them as Mr. Porter (Her father) and Miss Porter (His daughter). You never called elders by first name. I can see her and Mr. Porter in the back of their yard. He would be sitting in the shade of the garage. While she did yard work. I hope and pray that they are getting together up there and having a wonderful Neighborhood Block Party. Like we use to have.
