My first meeting with Dr. Skinner was when he knocked on my parent's front door. I couldn't image who he was since they were only expecting the podiatrist that day. When this smiling man dressed in a t-shirt, shorts and sneakers said HE was the podiatrist , it was a pleasant surprise for us all. Both my parents looked forward to his visits. Later, when my Dad was failing, Dr. Skinner could get him to talk and forget about his pain for a while. At Pilgrim Rehab, I also saw that Dr. Skinner was highly regarded by staff and residents alike. The word that I think best sums up Dr. Skinner is "kind".

My sincerest sympathy and prayers to all his family.

My deepest condolences to Kirk/Dr. Skinners family. I met him years ago when he began coming to see the individuals I worked with in a specialized group home. His kindness and patience were beyond words. He would often bring them a small gift such as a beautiful book of nature scenes. I looked forward to seeing him as much as the ladies who lived there. He always had a kind word, a joke or story to share. I will never forget his laugh. He was a truly exceptional person. Peace and blessings to your family.

I am saddened to hear of the loss of Dr. Skinner who so ably cared for my beloved mother Helen P Miller, resident of the wonderful assisted living facility in Peabody: Sunrise at Gardner Park. Dr. Skinner was always warm and responsive when I coordinated some of his visits on behalf of Mom on occasion. I know many people relied on his expertise. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. This loss at such a young age must be particularly painful.

I was so shocked and saddened by this news. Kirk/Dr. Skinner was a very special guy! I really admired his candid, cheerful and honest personality. He will be impossible to replace! He gave all of himself kindly to everyone he made contact with over the years at the Wenham Council on Aging. Speaking for everyone in our community, he was someone for who we cared deeply. So sorry for your loss and we send along our deepest condolences. JR

I'm sure I speak for all of us at Element Care in Lynn when I say that Kirk was well loved by all of us and his patients for whom he provided loving care. I've known him for about 10years and always enjoyed joking around with him and is easy going ways. He was always my go to podiatrist for a multitude of home bound clients and he cared for everyone equaly and his patients acutally really looked forward to seeing him. For some, he was their only friend and he welcomed calls day and night. A couple years ago he taught the health care providers at PACE proper nail care and I recently used my tools "finally;" I was excited to tell him about it. Your loss ripples across the North Shore and beyond. Kirk, you will be dearly missed.

I knew Kirk through his services to the elderly. He was genuine, kind, and always happy. The connections with his patients was intense; he may have only seen them once a month, but treated them like long term friends. I am so sorry for the family's loss; please find some comfort in knowing that he made such a positive impact on lives, lives of people that you will never meet. He will be in your heart and memory forever.

I am the credentialing specialist at Element Care, Inc. Although I never met Dr. Skinner, I had occasion to communicate with him regarding his credentialing documents. He was a kind man.

May God speed to all and fill your hearts with peace and comfort.

With deepest sympathy,

It was a great honor to work with Dr. Skinner at Element Care. He would pop into my office and always apologize for having to share it with me for the day. If he only knew that I enjoyed his company with his quick whit about him and all the clients loved to see him. He spoke of his family often and always asked about mine. He was a great man and will be missed greatly.

We are shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of Kirk. Please know there are many that are mourning with you. Some of my fondest memories of Kirk was when our kids were younger and Kirk used to help bring the kids home after school. He would load all the kids into his car and take them out for ice cream along the way. They would come in all giggling and laughing. He was a big kid himself and enjoyed life. Our deepest condolences.

Katie and Ben,

Having had the honor and privilege to spend a significant amount of time with your Dad over the last 6 plus years, I can truly say that I have never met anyone who unconditionally loved his children more than Kirk. He talked about you both with such pride and joy. He was a great friend and I enjoyed our times together, be it at football games watching the girls do their cheerleading thing, the indoor track meets and especially on the softball diamond, whether coaching together or as spectators. Coaching is where your Dad made an incredible impact with anyone who came in contact with him, players, parents or coaches. He was a great motivator, constantly cheering everyone on, always positive and compassionate. He was always the first one there, brought snacks and ice for the girls and had a special greeting or saying for each and every girl. For the girls that he coached, he provided a great male role model. There is nothing I can say or do to take away the pain, no matter how much I wish there was. But please know this, your father was a GREAT man and will be terribly missed. However, he has left a lasting legacy in both of you.

I am truly blessed to have been able to call your Dad my friend.
