My heartfelt condolences to David's family and friends. David was such an inspiration. We were colleagues in Bill Commerford's painting class at the MFA. David's paintings were beautiful and reflective of his depth of feeling. He was very supportive of other students' efforts. When I was feeling negative about one of my paintings, he was very supportive, emphasizing what he liked in the painting and offering helpful comments. David was an inspiration throughout his illness...so brave. He was an example of how to live, create and be there for others regardless of the circumstances of ones life. Painting class will not be the same without David. I will miss him very much. When I get "stuck", I will think: "What would David suggest?" In that way, he will continue to make a difference in my life. Bless him.

I did not know David but when I read his obituary, it really impressed me that he was truly a wonderful person. The obituary reminded me that we all have our struggles with anxiety, depression, addictions, etc. but they are seldom mentioned in one's obituary. We all suffer in life as human beings but appears that he responded to his own suffering by being a kind and loving person. May God bless him.

The paintings that David left behind will be a beautiful legacy and tribute to the life he lived. His kind soul will be missed by all. Rest in peace, David. We love you.
