Albert K. Leavitt, 93, of Methuen died on Sunday June 21, 2015 at Prescott House, N. Andover.  Mr. Leavitt was born, raised and educated in Methuen and has lived in Methuen for many years. Before retirement, he worked in the maintenance department of Holy Family Hospital, Methuen. Al served with The US Army during WW II and was the recipient of The Purple Heart and The Silver Star. Al enjoyed gardening and traveling and he and his wife traveled to many destinations including Europe, Alaska and Hawaii.

The widower of Isabelle M. Leavitt, his family members include his sons, John K. and his wife, Margaret Leavitt of Bradford, MA., Scott D. and his wife, Shirley Leavitt of Roselle, IL and Bruce A. and his wife, Lauri Leavitt of Raymond, NH. He leaves his sister, Helen Carroll of Hampton, NH and 6 grandchildren, Scott, Jr., Jessica, Erin, Stephanie, Shawna and Andrew as well as 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his son, Robert M. Leavitt.

Calling hours will be on Friday June 26, 2015 from 9 to 10:30 AM at The Charles Dewhirst Andover Funeral Home, 33 Pearson St., Andover, MA. Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen.
