J. Claudine (McCain) Westaway (Deane), age 89 of North Andover, passed away Friday, September 11, 2015.  Married to William T. Westaway for 68 years, she was the daughter of Claude and Bertha McCain, and sister of Fred A. McCain of Florenceville, New Brunswick. Born and raised in Florenceville she lived most of her life in Andover and Lawrence, Massachusetts.

After graduating from Horton Academy in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, Deane earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Acadia University.

Over the years, she was a full-time mother and also worked for the American Cancer Society and Aetna Insurance.  Since moving to Andover in 1954, Deane has been an active member of the West Parish Church.

Deane is survived by her husband William T. and her children; William D. and his wife, Deborah; Bruce and his wife, Carmie; Dorothy; Barry and his wife, Karrie; Deborah and her partner, Brad McGowan; 11 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

Deane will be remembered by all for her positive attitude, encouragement, willingness to pitch in, and cheerfulness. 

At the request of the family there are no calling hours.  A Memorial Service will be held at the West Parish Cemetery Chapel in Andover, at 10:30 AM, on Saturday, September 19, 2015. Interment will be in the West Parish Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be made to the American Cancer Society and/or the West Parish Congregational Church of Andover. Arrangements are by The Charles F.
