Nancy M. Fleming passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 27 at Holy Family Hospital after a long illness.
Born on October 23, 1942, Nancy was the daughter of the late Merle (Dow) and Harold Andrew. She was a lifelong resident in the town of Methuen. She graduated from Tenney Memorial High School in 1960 before obtaining a degree in education from Salem State College. Nancy taught elementary school in many local school districts before changing careers. She retired as a clerk from the town of Methuen. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. Nancy was most often found enjoying a gentle breeze on her front porch while reading a favorite book. She also found pleasure in traveling, cooking, and tending to her flowers. Most of all, she found happiness with her family.
She was a devoted mother and nana who will be missed by her son Matthew and her grandson Andrew. In addition, she is survived by her brother Robert Andrew and his wife Margaret, her brother Steven Andrew and his wife Patricia, and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 6th from 3:00 to 7:00pm at the Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, December 7th at 10:00am in the funeral home chapel, with burial to follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Methuen.
