Salim Alfred Dawaliby, 76, passed away on Saturday November 5, 2016 at Wingate Rehabilitation Center at Haverhill.   Salim was a wonderful and giving husband and father who helped everyone that needed it. Born in Lebanon, he moved to the United States at the age of 12 where he lived with his parents in Brooklyn, NY. He enlisted in the US Air Force at the age of 17 and was an interpreter in Libya during his military service. He moved to Salem, NH after his time in the USAF ended and attended Merrimack College prior to beginning his career as a medical engineer with Damon Corporation in Massachusetts. Salim continued his career working for Johnson and Johnson where he did pioneering work in laser hematology before retiring at the age of 48 to join his wife in her real estate business. An artist, carpenter and avid gardener, Salim was a selfless man who loved and lived for his family.

His family members include his wife of 50 years, Sandra (Abdulla) Dawaliby, his daughter, Leslie Peach and her husband, Kevin, his son Mark Dawaliby and his daughter, Nicole Dawaliby. He is also survived by his grandson, Tyler Mark Dawaliby and Tyler’s mother, Jessica Desfosses, and his grand-daughter, Hayley Kean Peach, as well as many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.

Salim fought a valiant battle against Cancer and will be sadly missed. His family would like to thank Dr. A. Mehta and his team at Dana Farber Cancer Institute as well as the wonderful staff at the Holy Family Hospital and Wingate Rehabilitation Center at Haverhill for the great care showed to him.

Family and friends are invited to visitation from 10:30am to 11:30am on Friday November 11, 2016 at Mary Queen of Peace Church, 200 Lawrence Road, Salem, NH. A Funeral Mass will follow the visitation at 11:30am on Friday at the church. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Lazarus House Ministries, PO Box 408, Lawrence, MA 01842.
