Ruth Murabito, 91 of Lawrence died on Thursday September 17, 2015 at her home.  Mrs. Murabito was born in Portland, Maine and was raised and educated in Dracut, MA. She has lived in Lawrence for many years.  Ruth worked as a stitcher in local textile mills. She was a member of St Michael’s Parish, N. Andover and was a faithful servant of The St. Basil Cursillo Community and enjoyed serving in the kitchen and participated in  many activities there.  She enjoyed her last days surrounded by family and friends as she sat in the bay window watching the gifts of God’s creation and breathing in the beautiful view of her beloved city of Lawrence.  She was a very grateful person and every other word she said was, “thank you”.

The widow of Leo A. “Freddie” Murabito, her family members include her daughters, Barbara Francis and Mary Ann Mutter both of Lawrence and her sister, Eleanor Burton of Pelham, NH. She leaves 2 grandchildren, Joseph Murabito and  Dana Francis  both of Lawrence and a great grandson, Brendan Hughes as well as several nieces and nephews. Ruth was pre-deceased by her son-in-law, Carl Mutter.

Calling hours will be on Monday September 21, 2015 from 4 to 7 PM at The Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen.  A Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday September 22 at 10:00 AM in St. Michael’s Church, N. Andover.
