Rosemary L. Blessington, 81, died September 11, 2016, at Mary Immaculate Nursing & Restorative Center, Lawrence, following a long illness.

She was born March 13, 1935, the daughter of the late Isabel (Gibb) and John Blessington of Lawrence. Rosemary graduated from the Assumption School, Lawrence High School, and Simmons College, after which she spent several years working in Europe. She later completed a Master’s degree in Spanish at Middlebury College as she began a long career teaching Spanish. Rosemary was on the faculty of Bradford College, Berkshire Community College, Mt. Ida College, and Tewksbury Memorial High School. She finished her professional career in the Lawrence School system.

With her love of Spanish language and culture, Rosemary made many educational trips to Spain, including one on a Fulbright Scholarship.

She was predeceased by her brother John Blessington, and is survived by nephews John Blessington and Chris Blessington, nieces Mary-Jane Evans and Kimberly Meyers, and several cousins.
