Welcome to the memorial page for

Richard E. Jessie

January 15, 1958 ~ August 25, 2016 (age 58) 58 Years Old

Richard E Jessie, 58, a life-long resident of the greater Lawrence area, has died.  Rick was the son of Withold and Dorothy (Getchel) Jessie of Methuen who both wait, along with his dear dog Kansas, to greet him in heaven.  Rick was educated in Methuen and graduated from Tenney High School.  He made his career first, by selling Electrolux door to door, rising to become a top salesman in the northeast, winning many incentive prizes and Diamond sales status with the firm.  Later, he took his amazing energy, training in sales and an innovative idea on to start his own carpet cleaning company, servicing thousands of residential and business customers in the area for over a 20 year span.

All who knew Rick commented on his sense of humor, enthusiasm for his work and that boundless energy of his.  He enjoyed the lasting friendships of many people, including Bill W.  Rick had a few favorite things in life.  He loved to travel, he loved his dog and other pets, he loved his church, he loved the Sox and the Patriots, he loved a great meal, he loved his children and being around the family, especially during the holidays, he loved the Macy’s and Rose Bowl parades, he loved a good cigar, he loved all kinds of music. He had a sentimental heart and never forgot to send a card for a birthday, or at Christmas, or, flowers on Valentine’s Day.

Rick was married and leaves his current wife, Teresa Giuffre of Lawrence. He helped raise his stepson Peter Giuffre of Salem, New Hampshire.  Rick had three children that he shared with his first wife, Tina Zisa Jessie:  Ross Jessie, of Las Vegas, Nevada, Melanie Jessie and Laura Jessie of Derry, New Hampshire and a grand-daughter, Jayla Jessie of Derry, New Hampshire.  Rick also leaves his sister, Marilyn Pederson of Katy, Texas.

After cremation, Rick will be interred with his parents at Bellevue Cemetery in Lawrence.  Arrangements are under the direction of Charles Dewhirst Funeral Home, and will be announced.  Memorial Contributions can be made directly to the care of Dewhirst Funeral Home.
