Leona M. “Lee” Fay, 94, a longtime resident of Methuen passed away on Tuesday August 9, 2016 with her family by her side at Penacook Place, Haverhill. Mrs. Fay was born and raised in Cambridge, MA and was a graduate of Cambridge High School and Latin School. She lived in Arlington and Wilmington and resided in Methuen since 1973. Before retirement, Lee worked as a waitress at the former Red Tavern of Methuen and Valle’s Steak House, Andover. She was very involved with various groups and clubs at the Mystic Street complex. She loved dancing, bingo and crafts.
The widow of William A. Fay, her family members include her son, William I. Eagan of Rapid City, South Dakota and her daughters, Cheryl Doucette of Haverhill, Patricia and her husband, David Muise of Londonderry, NH, Diane and her husband, Thomas Curtis of Methuen, Debra Egan of Plaistow, NH and Candace St. Onge of Methuen. Lee also leaves several grandchildren Great grandchildren and great great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Cynthia Wool.
Family and friends are invited to visitation on Friday August 12, 2016 from 5pm to 6pm at The Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 6:00pm on Friday at the funeral home. Burial in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen will be private.
