Remembering Larry Glavin

Larry Glavin, an active member of the Boston CAC since 1969, died February 19 at Metro West Framingham after a long illness.

Larry Glavin

Larry was active in almost all aspects of CAC life.  He loved dances, parties, Epicureans, tennis, volleyball, canoeing and travel.  He was among the first to the top in our annual climbs of Mt. Monadnock and frequent climbs of Mt. Washington.  He was present at ourShamrock Village weekends of the early 70’s.  He ran the first Jensen’s weekend in 1972, the start of more than 100 Boston CAC weekends there.  He went on Jim McAleer’s trips to Boothbay Harbor in the 1980s.  He faithfully attended Dorene’s holiday dinners until illness overtook him in 2014.

In the accompanying photo Larry is shown with Cindy Kryston at a 1980 Christmas party.  Of his favorite beer, Budweiser, Larry would say: "It isn’t just for breakfast anymore”.

We mourn the loss of a great friend.  God bless you, Larry, as we remember you and pray for you.
