Herbert James Conroy, 96, went to be with the Lord on September 4, 2015 surrounded by his family. 

He was born in Lawrence to Joseph and Martha Conroy.  He attended Lawrence Public Schools.  He was also a World War II Army Air Corp 8th Air Force Veteran.  He met and married Alexandra Joan (Reddy) Conroy while stationed in England.

He worked at Bolton Emerson and Concentration Specialists until his retirement.  He was a long time member of Riverside Assembly of God and served as Treasurer, Board member and other various committees.  Herbert Was a member of the Eighth Air Force Historical Society and Society of manufacturing Engineers.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years Alexandra Joan Conroy, daughter, Carolyn, son, David and his wife, Barbara (Ellis) Conroy, grandsons, Daniel Conroy and Michael and his wife, Danielle Conroy; a great granddaughter, Riley Conroy, brother, Robert Conroy, brother-in-law, Thomas Dreher, and several nieces and nephews and close friends, Mick and Anne George. He was predeceased by his son, James and siblings Joseph, Harry, George, Thomas, Lucy, Jean, Frances, Martha.

Family and friends may visit from 4 - 7 PM on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at The Charles F.
