Darlene Ricker Romano was born in Flint, Michigan on Jan. 5, 1954 and passed away on July 21, 2016 in Portsmouth Regional Hospital.  She was 62 years old.

Darlene leaves behind daughter, Taunia Lynn Meeker of Windham, NH and son, Joshua Hart of Maricopa, AZ as well as six grandchildren.  Darlene’s father, Lawrence R. Ricker pre-deceased her in January of 2012.  Beverly Ann Ricker, Darlene’s mother resides in Orford, NH as does her sister, Jody Ann Mace and brother, Kevin Ricker.  Sister, Diana Ricker Newton and brother, Keith Ricker live in Arizona.  Also, she leaves four nephews and four nieces as well as other extended family.

Darlene lived most of her adult life in the Lebanon, NH area raising her two children.  She and Michael Romano were married in July of 1994.

Taunia and Joshua are grateful for the support of their father, James Hart.

Darlene enjoyed interior decorating and her home in West Lebanon was evidence of her talent.  It exuded warmth and comfort, as did she.  Darlene found great joy in cooking as well as hosting gatherings for family and friends at her home, and they, in turn found great joy in sharing these times with her.

Darlene was also pleased to have had the opportunity to play a vital role as Vice President of three start up banks in the Upper Valley where Darlene stated she worked with some amazing people.

Darlene was fun, funny and blended a mischievous nature with a bit of stubbornness.   If someone attempted to dampen her spirit/objective by saying ‘not possible’, she either did not hear them or did not believe them.  One of her favorite sayings was, “just you hide and watch”. 

She was greatly loved, and will be dearly missed.  Rest in peace, Darlene.

A private service will be held for the immediate family in August.
