Agata (Ida) Capriole, a lifelong resident of Lawrence, MA, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2015 after a short illness at the Mary Immaculate Restorative Center in Lawrence, MA. She was 96 years old. For many years she worked as a samples finish stitcher in the Everett Mills. Ida was a quiet, thoughtful, and generous natured woman who had a flair for fine apparel and enjoyed watching the “the Soaps”, cooking (her special holiday meatballs and sauce were always a favorite at family gatherings), tripping the light fantastic (dancing), and, of course, her Grand- and Great Grandchildren. Ida was a parishioner of the Corpus Christi Parish (Holy Rosary Church) and member of the St. Rita Solidarity.
Ida was the daughter of the late Vincenzo and Venera (Gambino) Contarino both of Sicily, Italy. She was predeceased by her husband Corizio (Mike) Capriole and husband George Bailey; her brothers Anthony, Sebastian (“Eddie”), and Joseph Contarino. She is survived by brother, Alfred Contarino of Ventura, CA; three children: daughters Joanne Albert and her husband Bertrand, Connie King and her husband Paul, both of Methuen, MA and son Dominic Capriole and his wife Mary of Westborough, MA; three grandchildren: Christine Albert, M.D., Kevin Albert, Erica King and; two great grandchildren: Samantha and Alexandra Ouellette of Methuen; and many loving nieces and nephews living throughout the country. Ida was also predeceased by granddaughter, Alisa King.
Ida’s family wholeheartedly thanks the Mary Immaculate Restorative Center staff for the warm professional care and comfort given Ida her last days on earth and the residents of Mary Immaculate Assisted Living Quarters, where she lived, for their friendship extended to Ida over recent years.
There are no calling hours. A private memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers and in Ida’s memory, family and friends are asked to perform a good deed for another person. Arrangements are by The Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen. To send an online condolence, please visit, www.dewhirstfuneral.com or www.facebook.com/DewhirstFuneralHome.
