William A. Stundza, 71, of Lawrence, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2024, at the “Care One” Nursing Facility in Wilmington, MA., after a long illness.
William was born in Lawrence on June 1, 1952, the second son of John A. and Matilda (Staniulionis) Stundza. He graduated from Central Catholic High School, Class of 1970, and later graduated from Merrimack College, Class of 1974. William received his Degree in Nursing at Salem State College, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree, as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse. As a member of the American Psychiatric Nursing Association, he was employed at several hospitals in Essex County. For most of his career, he was employed locally for the V. N. A. Prior to his career in nursing, William was employed as an announcer for several radio stations in the area, and as well as a disc-jockey for private and public events. William was proud of his Lithuanian Heritage, as well as a very enthusiastic sports fan attending numerous sporting events throughout New England.
William is predeceased by his parents, John and Matilda Stundza, his brother, Thomas Stundza, and his aunt, Amelia Stundza. He is survived by his brother, Jonas Stundzia, many cousins out-of-state, his caregiver, David Meehan, and his dear friend, Wanda Martinez.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to calling hours on Friday, January 12, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m . at the Dewhirst and Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844. A Catholic Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 12, 2024, at the Funeral Home, burial will be at a later date.
