William D. Berry, Jr., 83, of Lawrence, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 21, 2021.

Bill was born on Lawrence , and was educated in Lawrence and Methuen schools.  Bill held degrees in both mental health and drug and alcohol counseling.  Bill served in the United States Coast Guard.  A lover of all things American, Bill collected bald eagles and wolves.  Bill resided most of his life in Lawrence.

Bill (Billy), as many knew  and loved him, was predeceased by his father and mother, William D. Berry, Sr. and Nora Constance (Sheehan) Berry, his sister, Joanne, his grandson, Alexander Wilson, and his great granddaughter, Juliet Shippee.Bill is survived by his sons, Neil Berry of Seabrook, NH, Craig Berry of Lynn, MA, Timothy Berry of Haverhill, MA and William “Billy” Berry of Haverhill, MA; his daughters, Tracy Chmieleski of Saratoga Springs, Utah, Tammy-Lynn Berry of Manchester, NH and Rosie Berry of Haverhill, MA; several grandchildren , great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and his longtime friend and boss, John Saba.  “Semper Paratus”.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to calling hours on Thursday, June 3, 2021 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Dewhirst and Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.  A Graveside service with military honors will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Veterans Section of the Bellevue Cemetery ,  Lawrence.
