Vivian Kane Obituary

Vivian (Joubert) Kane, a woman of unwavering inner strength, fought a courageous battle against dementia.  Vivian passed away peacefully on Friday, March 22, 2024 at the age of 76 after finally succumbing to the disease.

Born on March 18, 1948 in Lawrence, MA, only daughter of the late Lucille Joubert Casey and Joseph Joubert.  Vivian lived a life full of adventure.  She loved to laugh and was the life of the party.  Vivian graduated from Presentation of Mary Academy in Methuen and received her Associates Degree from Fisher College.  From an early age her beauty, both inside and out, captured the hearts of those around her. It was no surprise when she was crowned Miss Coast Guard and Miss Methuen; titles she carried with pride. Throughout her twenties, Vivian was very involved in state and local beauty pageants.  Her love of pageants was so great that when she finished competing she went on to mentor others.  She worked as a secretary in many local businesses until her retirement.

The light of Vivian’s life was her daughter Kourtney.  As her only child, Vivian never missed an event in her life.  She attended every single athletic game throughout her career and sat in the front row to celebrate every accomplishment.  She gave everything she had to show her support.

Vivian's life was a testament to resilience and fortitude. Despite the challenges she faced in her battle against dementia, she approached each day with courage and determination, never allowing the disease to dim the light of her spirit. Her unwavering resilience served as an inspiration to all who surrounded her.

Vivian is survived by her loving daughter Kourtney Kane Grimley and her grandchildren Aidan and Colin Grimley, who will always remember the spark of light that she was. She is also survived by her sister-in-law and dear friend Patricia Morgan, her niece Jennifer Benoit and nephew William Morgan, her brother- in- law William Kane and many family members extending across the country from Hudson, New Hampshire to Fairbanks, Alaska.

A celebration of Vivian's life will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024 from 4pm to 6pm, at Dewhirst Boles Funeral Home 80 Broadway, Methuen, MA. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America who is committed to researching a better treatment and a cure for Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. To leave an online condolence, please visit Vivian’s tribute page at www.dewhirstbolesfuneral.com.

May Vivian's soul find eternal peace and may her memory continue to inspire and uplift us all. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched. Though she may no longer be with us in body, her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.  May those of us left behind continue to shine as bright and as confidently as she did.
