Virginia Aveles, 92 a longtime resident of Lawrence passed away on Saturday September 4, 2021 at her home. Mrs. Aviles was born in Manati, Puerto Rico and has lived in Lawrence since 1966. Virginia worked for many years in the local textile industry and retired from New Balance of Lawrence.
The widow of Maximino R. Acevedo, her family members include her daughter Carmen M. Rodriguez and her sons Pedro Vargas and Max Rodriguez. She leaves her sisters Iluminada, Margarita and Rosin and her brother Virgilio and his wife Milca. Virginia is also survived by her grandchildren Jose (Bugsy), Wilson (Fish), Leslie J., Omara, Edwin, Papito, Ginny, Alex, Dandy, Shannon, Jose, Daniel, Mikel, Janel, Xioliz, Stephanie and Ivelise. Virginia also leaves many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews including her greatgrandchild Baby George. She was predeceased by her children, Sara, Elizabeth, Nereida and Rafael and her grandchildren Cynthia and Marcos.
Family and friends are invited to visiting hours on Friday September 10, 2021 from 9 am to 11 am at the Dewhirst & Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen. Funeral services will follow the visiting hours at 11:00 am on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery, Lawrence.
