Thomas F. Gallagher, Sr., 79 of Methuen passed away on Thursday July 26, 2024 at his home.
Mr. Gallagher was born in Lawrence on August 24, 1944 the son of the late Joseph C. Gallagher and Dorothy H. (Houle) Gallagher. Tom was educated in the Lawrence School System and did odd jobs before becoming a painter for many years. In 1978, Tom became the Lawrence K-9 dog officer and worked at that job until his retirement. He later worked in various night clubs as a “bouncer” earning the nickname “Rambo”. Tom loved playing Bingo, going to meat raffles, playing 45’s, wrestling, old movies, going to the beach for pizza, fudge and fried dough. He especially loved hanging out with his animals.
Tom’s family members include his daughter with whom he resided, Judy Wilton and her husband Bruce of Methuen, His son Tommy Gallagher and his wife Kim of Salem, NH, and his son Charles Gallagher of Lawrence and daughter Kathleen Gallagher of Lawrence. He also leaves his sister Rosemary and her husband Arthur LeBlance of Jacksonville, NC, his brother Edward Gallagher of Lawrence and his grandchildren and nieces and nephews and his beloved animals. He was predeceased by his son Shane Gallagher, 2 sisters, 5 brothers and his best friend, his dog Turbo Diesel.
