Theresa (Terry) Beauchesne: February 27th, 1940 – March 14th, 2026
Theresa M. (Bastian) Beauchesne, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill, MA, surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 27, 1940, in Lawrence, MA, Theresa was the beacon of light and love in the lives of all who knew her.
Theresa was the daughter of Irene (McKay) and Edward Bastian, and the oldest of many siblings. She attended Sacred Heart School (Lawrence, MA) and graduated in the Class of 1957. After high school, Theresa joined the Andover Companies, where she dedicated over 30 years of service. Her colleagues remember her as a hardworking individual who always brought joy and humor to the workplace. Her early years in Lawrence laid the foundation for a life filled with love, laughter, and the importance of family. She carried these values throughout her life, instilling them in her children and grandchildren.
A devout Catholic, Theresa lived her faith through her actions, putting others before herself and offering help and comfort to those in need. She was a living example of kindness and compassion, touching the hearts of everyone in her church community. She was a proud parishioner and eucharistic minister of St. Theresa’s (Our Lady of Good Counsel) for the majority of her life.
Theresa married the love of her life, Francis Beauchesne on May 19th, 1962, and together they built a life filled with beautiful memories. She was a devoted mother to her children, Michael and his wife Barbara, Jeanne and her husband Daniel, and Stephen and his wife Joanne. Theresa's legacy continues through her grandchildren, Amanda and Jason Lee, Emilie Zahn and Patrick DeAngelis, Ian Beauchesne and Anna Barry, Olivia, Allison, Elizabeth, Timothy, and her great-grandson James. Family gatherings were always a highlight, with Theresa at the heart, sharing stories, laughter, and love.
She is survived by her loving sisters, Doris Green and Joan Bastian, and her brothers, Mark and his husband Rod, Edward and his wife Rhonda, and John and his wife Patricia. Theresa also leaves behind her brother-in-law, Paul, and his wife Joyce Beauchesne, and sister-in-law, Cecile Belanger. She was predeceased by her parents, her brother Thomas Bastian, her son-in-law James Zahn, and her brothers-in-law Raymond Belanger and Kenneth Green.
Theresa's interests were a reflection of her vibrant spirit. She found joy in gardening and was a lover of travel, seeking new experiences with her husband. Theresa's hands were rarely still, as she created warmth through her knitting and picking up a good book to read. Her sense of humor was unmatched, and she could often be found savoring a good gimlet, her laughter ringing through the room.
Described by those who knew her as loving, funny, and generous, her spirit will live on in the memories we cherish and the love she so freely gave. The family would like to thank the staff of the Mary Immaculate Nursing Home along with the High Pointe House for their care of Theresa in her final months. In lieu of flowers, the family asks to please make donations to High Pointe House in Haverhill, MA.
Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Wednesday March 18, 2026 from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Dewhirst Boles Funeral Home 80 Broadway, Methuen.
