Stella Koo Yang (Tzse Shing 顧芝馨), age 95, of North Andover, peacefully passed away January 13, 2019, with her family by her side. Stella was predeceased by her loving husband, Stephen Y.H. Yang in 2009.
Stella was the oldest daughter of three children born in Shanghai. She graduated from St. John’s University in Shanghai, travelled to the United States where she attended Skidmore College and Drexel University. Stella and Stephen settled in Summit, New Jersey for 46 years and relocated to Massachusetts in 2008.
They had an active social life in the tri-state Chinese community and were active Phi Lambda members. Stella enjoyed world travel, dining out, social events, shopping on Fifth Avenue and family time. She became a great cook, hosted or attended mahjong parties weekly. She was a dietician, a teacher and eventually found her calling trading stocks.
Stella is survived by brother: Ronald Koo, retired; two children: H. Kell Yang MD, a retired ophthalmologist, and Stephanie Yang-Sammataro, a business owner and four grandchildren: Brooks Yang, Kelsey Yang, John Yang-Sammataro and Kell Yang-Sammataro.
Stella was a cheerful woman who had a thirst for life and touched many lives. She will be dearly missed.
