Sheila (Nugent) Spinney – Atkinson, NH

Sheila Nugent Spinney of Atkinson NH formerly of Methuen MA, born July 6th 1940, daughter of the late Michael and Mary Nugent of County Waterford, Ireland, passed away after a long illness on Sunday, December 17th 2023 surrounded at home by her loving family. She was born in Waterford County Ireland and came to the United States in 1958, where she worked at Bradford Junior College and the Ashworth Hotel in Hampton Beach. She later was employed for over 30 plus years at Western Electric which later became Lucent Technologies which she retired from in August 2001. She was pre-deceased by her husband Ronald R. Spinney which she married in 1960 and they had 6 children.

She leaves behind son John Spinney wife Minda of Virginia Beach VA, daughter Linda DelPozzo husband David of Derry NH, son Michael Spinney wife Deanna of Pelham NH, daughter Catherine Lento husband Peter of Sanford ME, son Mark Spinney wife Sally of Bradford MA and daughter Donna Bistany of Atkinson NH. Along with Grandson Nicholas Delpozzo, Granddaughters Cassandra Wooles, Christina DelPozzo, Juliana Bistany and Great Grandson Myles Macomber. She also leaves behind her sisters Breeda Lemelin of Methuen MA, Mary Schloth of Sandown NH, brother Joseph Nugent and sister-in-law Margaret Nugent both of County Waterford Ireland. Nephew Brian Spates of Derry NH and Neice Tammy Tagliaferri husband Paul of Methuen MA along with many Cousins, Nieces and Nephews and Great Nieces and Nephews here and in Ireland. She is predeceased by her brothers Bertie Nugent and Michael Nugent of Ireland.

Calling hours are Tuesday, December 26, 2023 from 4-7 PM at the Dewhirst Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. Monica’s Parish, 212 Lawrence Street, Methuen, MA 01844.  Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen.
