Sarah “Sally” (Sutcliffe, Laliberte) Webb – Methuen, MA
Sally was called home on September 5, 2021 surrounded by her loved ones and the compassionate staff at Mary Immaculate.
Sally was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Auchterlonie) Sutcliffe. She was raised and educated in Andover.
The Scottish girl from Andover caught the eye of the handsome French boy from Lawrence, Robert Laliberte. They were married in November of 1955. Bob entered the Marines to proudly serve his country. Sally resided with her in laws and was surrounded by the warm and loving Laliberte family.
They started a family and had three children, Robert, Stephen and Susan .They were married for 25 years. Bob passed away due to illness in 1980.
Sally was a teacher’s and reading aide at the Stephen Barker School for many years. She then moved on to work as an administrative assistant for the local director for the Mass Department of Mental Health. It is there where she met her dear friend, Maryann Mckenzie.
In Sally’s retirement, she enjoyed nature and camping, decorating her home and yard, and spending time with her family. Sally had a twinkle in her sparkling blue eyes and was always stylishly dressed.
Sally leaves behind her son, Stephen and his wife, Paula with whom she resided with prior to her stay at Mary Immaculate. She is survived by her son Robert and his wife Debra. She was nana to Tara, Jarred and Stephen and great nana to Cora and Neveah.
Sally had a very close bond with her sisters, the late Dorothy Johnson and Ruth Charest Norman. She also will be missed by in laws Edmund and Roberta Mansor, and nieces and nephews in the Laliberte, Charest, Letourneau,Johnson, Feugill and Martino families.
Sally was predeceased by her husband Bob, sisters Mary Sutcliffe and Dorothy Johnson as well as her beloved daughter Susan.
Our family would like to thank Father Ziad Layous and Father Chris Casey for Sally’s bedside blessings. The staff and nurses at Mary Immaculate were like a second family to Sally.
Calling hours are Thursday, September 9, 2021 from 2-4 PM at Dewhirst & Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the calling hours at 4:45 PM at Our Lady of Good Council Church, 22 Plymouth Street in Methuen. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
Due to compromised family members, masks are mandatory at both the funeral home and the Funeral Mass.
