Ruth Towne Obituary
Ruth O. (Dean) Towne, 94, formerly of Methuen died March 1, 2020 peacefully at home following a short illness.
Ruth was born and raised in Methuen. She graduated from Edward F. Searles High School in 1943 and then attended Macintosh Business School. She was employed at the Nevins Memorial Library during high school then worked at Bancrofts and Kenney Meat Company in Lawrence. Ruth retired from Watts Regulator Company payroll department in 1987.
Ruth was predeceased by her husband Alvin H. Towne and her son Robert P. Towne. She leaves two children David A. Towne of Kingman, Arizona and Susan L Towne of Derry, New Hampshire. She was blessed with nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren who she enjoyed spending time with each weekend.
Family and friends are invited to visiting hours on Monday March 9, 2020 from 4 pm to 6 pm at the Dewhirst & Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen. A short service will follow the visitation at 6:00 pm on Monday at the funeral home.
