Rose Angela (Dubois) Michaud – Lawrence, MA

Rose Angela (Dubois) Michaud was born on December 28, 1924 in Methuen, MA to Henri H. Dubois and Lucina E. (Ouellette) Dubois.  She was one of 17 children.  While growing up, she attended church and school at Mount Carmel in Methuen.  Like most people of her generation, she left high school early to go work in the shoe mills of Lawrence.  In 1948, she met and married her husband of 65 years, Lionel J. Michaud. Together they raised 6 children. She is survived by her children, Jeanne Michaud, Susan (Drury) Michaud, Russell Michaud and his wife, Patricia (Couture) Michaud, Cynthia (Montijo) Michaud and her husband, Ramon Montijo, and Douglas Michaud and his partner Donald Barker.  Rose is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild. She also has several living sisters.  She was predeceased by her son, Wayne Michaud.  Rose was a woman of great faith and she and her husband were active at Sacred Heart Church in Lawrence for many years. Rose and Lionel enjoyed square dancing together and taking vacations with friends. In her later years she enjoyed making puzzles, doing word searches and spending time with family.

Calling hours are Wednesday, March 9, 2022 from 4 – 7 PM at Dewhirst & Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at 11 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, 22 Plymouth Street, Methuen, MA 01844.  Entombment will follow the Funeral Mass in the St. Mary / Immaculate Conception Mausoleum in Lawrence, MA.  In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to one of her favorite charities; St. Joseph’s Indian School, PO Box 326, Chamberlain, SD 57326.  Please visit www.dewhirstbolesfuneral.com for directions or to sign the online guest book.
