Roger O. Blanchette

Roger O. Blanchette, 87, of Atkinson, NH, formerly of Hampstead, NH, passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2022, at Beth Israel-Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA.

 The son of the late Joseph and Irma (Asselin) Blanchette, Roger was born in Lawrence on February 14, 1935.  Roger attended Lawrence schools and was a graduate of Lawrence High School.  After high school, he entered the United States Army, serving in active duty for two years, and later with the Army Reserves for two additional years.  After leaving the Army, Roger was employed in the construction industry for many years.  Later, he was employed for a local hotel in Andover, and after Andover for another hotel in Manchester, NH, for over a total of 20 years.  After his retirement, he enjoyed time-off, visiting local beaches (Salisbury, Hampton and Rye).  During this period, he took care of his mother, Irma, and his sister, Claire Carelli, in their home in Hampstead, NH, for many years.  After the passing of his mother and sister, Roger moved to Atkinson, NH.  Roger’s hobbies and interests were his automobiles and the beaches, where he spent a lot of time on the weekends watching the ocean and talking with many people.

 Roger married Mary Ann Thibodeau in 1956.  Roger was the father of their four children; Michael, Dwayne, Daphne, and Joseph.  He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

 Private Funeral Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
