Robert T. Tataronis

Robert T. Tataronis, 84, of Methuen, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at High Pointe Hospice in Haverhill following a brief illness.

The son of the late Stanley and Mary (Luksevicius) Tataronis, he was born on March 6, 1940. Robert and his future wife Anne Marie (Gosselin) graduated from Methuen’s Tenney High School in 1957. He then worked for the Raytheon Corporation while concurrently pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering at Lowell Technological Institute, which he received in 1963.

Robert spent nearly two decades working full-time in industry, first, as an engineer/production manager of light bulbs at GTE Sylvania in Manchester, NH, followed by employment as manufacturing manager of flash tube production at EG&G Corporation in Salem, MA. In 1983, he decided to pursue a teaching career as a full-time Assistant Professor of Electronics at Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, MA from where he retired in 1991. Throughout his work history, Robert was always beloved by co-workers and students alike.

In retirement, he enjoyed numismatics, cooking, fixing cars, and performing electrical/plumbing repairs in homes. Robert loved to travel and make occasional trips to casinos where he was an avid blackjack and simulcast horse race player. He also liked to visit Saratoga Racecourse each summer. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his devoted wife Anne Marie and his one and only son, Gary.

Robert is survived by his son Gary Tataronis of Methuen, MA, sister-in-law Janet Tatarunis of Westford, MA, nieces Tara Stevens of Pelham, NH and Jami Entwistle of Lancaster, MA, and nephew Jeff Tatarunis of Nashua, NH. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 62 years, Anne Marie Tataronis of Methuen, MA, sister Judith Entwistle of Methuen, MA and his brother Richard Tatarunis of Tyngsboro, MA.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to calling hours on Friday, July 19, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 12 Noon at the Dewhirst and Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.

A Funeral Service will follow at 12 Noon at the Funeral Home.  Burial will be at a later date.
