Robert L. Stott, “Grampa Charlie”, 85, of Lawrence, MA, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 5, 2018, at home with his loving family by his side. Born in Lawrence, February 14, 1933, son of the late Lincoln and Elizabeth (Oliver) Stott.
Robert was a graduate of Lawrence High School, class of 1951. In January 1952, he entered the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant. He worked at the Oxford Papermill and then Crown Cork and Seal in Lawrence.
He enjoyed striped bass, blue fish, mackerel, sometimes tuna fishing and was an avid lobster man, off the “Hey Charlie” boat, out of the Merrimack River.
He was predeceased by his parents and his sister Betty Mae.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Lois (La Brecque) Stott of Lawrence, his daughter Dr. Robyn Stott, D.C. and her husband John Valcourt of Methuen; his #1 son Jeffrey R. Stott and his wife Tammy of Lawrence; grandchildren Jennifer, Jeffrey M. and Morgan. He leaves behind his sisters Frances Halloran and Susan Bush and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 from 4 to 8 pm at Dewhirst & Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 11 am at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 90 Broadway, Methuen. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen.
