Robert C. Soboleski (Bob), age 83, formerly of Lawrence, MA, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 4, 2023, surrounded by his family at Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH.
The son of the late Elmira (Roy) and Chester Soboleski was born in Methuen, MA on June 15, 1939. Bob was educated at St. Laurence O’Toole Grammar School, Central Catholic High School, Lawrence, UMass and Northeastern University. He was employed at Raytheon Company in Lowell, MA, retiring from Vibrometer in Manchester, NH in the engineering field.
Bob was a lifelong Catholic belonging to the former Holy Trinity Church in Lawrence, and currently attended St. Marie’s Church in Manchester, NH. He enjoyed summers at Big Island Pond in a cottage his parents bought before he was born. He enjoyed hunting, swimming, and fishing when he was younger. He had a large group of cousins that used to get together every summer and have cousins’ parties put on by the Roy’s. Everyone will all greatly miss him and his teasing. He went to South Carolina every winter with his wife Denise to get away from the snow. They also traveled after retirement to many place in Europe. He showed his adventurous side by going skydiving on his 75th birthday.
He will be profoundly missed by his wife, Denise (Harris) Soboleski; his two sons, Robert Soboleski, Jr. and his wife , Virginia of Maryland, and Craig Soboleski of New Hampshire; his five grandchildren. Grace. Rose, Ian, Eli and Evy. He will also be missed by his sister, Carolyn Lira and her husband Jesse, his sister-in-law, Ellen Klimm and her husband Bob, and his many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to a Funeral Mass to be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Marie’s Church, 378 Notre Dame Avenue, Manchester, NH. Burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, 29 Barker Street Lawrence, MA. There are no Funeral Home calling hours, but the family will begin to meet relatives and friends at church on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.
