Rita B. (Odymala) Clarke – Lawrence, MA

Rita B. Clarke age 87 formerly of Lawrence and Methuen passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at Bear Mountain at Andover in Andover, MA.  Rita was born on July 12, 1933 in Boston the daughter of the late, Martin and Rosalia (Zielinski) Odymala.  She was raised and educated in Lawrence and graduated from Lawrence High School, Class of 1952.  She had worked for ITT Semiconductors for many years.

Rita enjoyed playing cards, especially 45’s with her daughter, Nancy and son-in-law, Mike.  She liked listening to music and especially loved her shopping trips, a trait that was passed down to her daughter, Deborah.  After she retired, she volunteered her time at the Lawrence Senior Center where she made many new friends.  Rita had a special bond with her grandson, Michael whom she adored and she made it a point to never missed an event of his when he was growing up.

She is survived by her sons, George DaRosa and Michael Clarke, her daughters, Deborah Blanchard and husband, James and Nancy Dobrinski and husband, Michael.  She is also survived by her grandson, Michael Dobrinski and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Rita was predeceased by her son-in-law, Christopher DaRosa.

Rita’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Bear Mountain at Andover as well as to West River Hospice for the loving care that they provided to their Mother.

There are no calling hours.  Family and friends are invited to attend a Graveside Service on Monday, September 28, 2020 at 10 AM at St. Mary’s / Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.  For those planning to attend, please meet the family at the cemetery.  In-lieu of flowers, please make donations to: Lawrence Boys & Girls Club, 136 Water Street, Lawrence, MA 01841.
