Obituary

Richard "Dickie" Philbrick - Methuen, MA

We are sad to announce that Richard "Dickie" Philbrick of Methuen, MA, left us unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 22, 2023. He was 55 years old. His family is devastated and shocked by this sudden loss. Richard was born on January 31,1968 in Methuen, MA.

Dickie was a man who took great pride in taking care of his family. He was beyond proud and would do anything for his girls and enjoyed every minute of it. All the kids that knew Dickie, loved and looked up to him. During coaching his girls softball teams, he made it so they always had the most fun. His famous words, "what's the name of the game? "Stop the ball."He was humble, kind, and beyond devoted to his family. The true definition of a family man.

Dickie was loved by so many. He had the biggest heart and would be the first to lend a hand to anyone in need. It did not matter whether he talked to a CEO or a janitor. Dickie treated everyone with respect and always left anyone feeling like they mattered. He had a big personality and a truck to match. Dickie's great sense of humor and quick wit always had everyone laughing when he was around.

Richard enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Some activities he enjoyed include camping, fishing, hiking and boating. He had a passion for spicy margaritas with extra salt. Dickie was an avid animal lover and adored all his pets..

Dickie started working in his early teens painting with Jim Henderson and worked his way up to running jobs. He eventually started his own business, Richard Philbrick Painting. He had a successful business for several years and had the “best” crew Steve Assad, Jesse Grasso, Mark Lynch, and Ryan Favazza, Dickie loved being the "big" boss. During part of his career, he was a Senior Project Manager for Andrew at MC Andrews for 12 years, Andrew was not only a boss but also a great friend. Richard started at Apothca in 2018 where he quickly worked his way up from National Director of construction and development /Director of Facilities to Chief Operating Officer. He was a great mentor and leader with a strong work ethic, integrity, courage, and respect. He was always ready to offer sound advice to all.
