Richard Walter Ingalls, 83 passed away on March 23, 2020 in Suwanee, GA. Dick was the son of Walter Beverly and Elsie Crompton Ingalls. He was born and raised in Methuen. After graduation from Methuen High School and attending two years at Tilton Academy, he joined the Navy with two friends where he served four years as an electrician’s helper. After leaving the Navy, he worked in electrical sales eventually founding his own company, Star Electric Motors. Richard loved history, traveling, writing in his journal and reading. Before moving to Georgia, he spent many Saturdays donating his time working on the USS Cassin Young in Boston Harbor. This was a labor of love. He was also a member and Past Master of John Hancock Lodge, AF & AM of Methuen. Dick enjoyed the camaraderie of the lodge, Saturday breakfasts and many events.
His family members include his four sons, Wayne, Gary, Robert and Jeffrey as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also leaves his partner of 22 years, Celina M. Tine. His sense of humor, positive attitude and caring heart will be greatly missed.
Family and friends are invited to an hour of visitation on Thursday July 30, 2020 from 1pm to 2pm at the Dewhirst & Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen. Officers and members of John Hancock Lodge, AF & AM will conduct Masonic Services at 2:00 pm on Thursday at the funeral Home.
