Richard “Dick” Ford – Dracut, MA
Richard “Dick” Ford was born in Methuen, MA to Richard and Christine (Campbell) Ford. He was a graduate of Lawrence High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged. In September of 1971, he married the love of his life Elaine (Cleary) Ford. In 1975 they moved to Dracut, MA where they spent 46 wonderful years. This past September they celebrated 50 years of marriage, a milestone he was so happy to celebrate with his wife surrounded by their family and friends.
He owned and operated Patriot Material Handling in Salem, NH for many years.
Dick was a kind and generous man. There was nothing Dick loved more than spending time with his family and friends. In his younger years he spent his summers hosting barbecues by the pool or on vacation in Cape Cod and Newport, RI. Dick was a lifelong fan of New England sports teams. He enjoyed his time coaching, then later watching his children’s sports teams. He spent many summers traveling around the country with his wife Elaine watching softball. These were memories that he cherished very much. On the sidelines he was everyone’s biggest fan. He passed the time playing cribbage and 45's and having phone calls with his brother Danny or with his friend Jim debating the latest "news" and reminiscing on past memories. He never missed a Sunday visit with his friend Ron, spending time watching sports. He loved the time he spent with his many grandchildren and was anxiously awaiting the arrival of his next granddaughter in May.
He was predeceased by his parents, Richard Ford Sr. and Christine Ford.
Dick is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Elaine (Cleary) Ford of Dracut, MA, his children, Kristina Stoddard and her husband Mark of Methuen, MA, Patrick Ford and his wife Liz of Jacksonville, FL, Timothy Ford and his wife Krystal Carl of Dracut, MA, Caelyn Rivera and her husband Jorge of Methuen, MA and Casey Ford and his girlfriend Colleen Carbonneau of Manchester NH, his grandchildren, Nick, Dallas, Evan, Kyle, Jack, Alex, Catherine, Keegan, Aidan, Dillan, Owen, Lainey, Jorge, Damian, Jaylen, Destenily, Derek and Savannalyn and his 5 great-grandchildren, his sister Roberta Carignan and her husband Armand of Dracut, MA, his brother, Daniel and his wife Liz Doucette of Brunswick ME.
