Richard "Dick" H. Cushing

Richard "Dick" H. Cushing of Melbourne, Florida passed away peacefully at home May 14, 2022 after a brief battle with cancer.  He was 94 years old.

Dick was born and raised in Lynn, MA, the beloved son of John and Yvonne (Morrisette) Cushing.  After graduating Lynn English High School, he enlisted in the US Navy and served during the Korean War conflict.  After his honorable discharge he married Pauline I. Ouellette and together they raised their family in Andover, MA until her passing in 1984. He had a lifelong career working for New England Power Company in Salem, MA until his retirement.

He had a beautiful singing voice and took part in his church choirs and musical shows.  He loved to listen to opera while smoking his beloved cigars.

Dick is survived by his children, daughter Loretta Gangi and her husband David of North Andover, MA, son Ronald and his wife Karen of Melbourne, FL, son Russell of Melbourne, FL, and daughter Ruthann Manning and her husband Paul of Methuen, MA. Grandchildren, Katrina, Jacqueline, Joshua, Kristi, Benjamin, Matthew, Cecile, and Richard.  He also leaves several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and their families.

Dick was predeceased by his wife Pauline, sister Louise Doward and brother George Cushing as well as sisters- in-law, brothers- in-law, and several cousins.

Visitation will be on Tuesday June 21, 2022 from 10 am to 11 am at Christ Church, 33 Central Street, Andover, MA. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 11:00 am on Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem, NH
