Richard A. Cayer

Richard A. Cayer, 77 of Methuen passed away on Tuesday November 7, 2023 at Holy Family Hospital, Methuen.

Mr. Cayer was born, raised and educated in Lowell and has lived in Greater Lawrence for many years. Before retirement, he worked, for over 30 years, as a supervisor for Mass Electric Company. For many years Richard and his wife enjoyed spending their winters in Florida. In his off time, he loved buying old homes and rehabbing them. He especially loved spending time with his family and friends and loved hosting cookouts and was an awesome “grill master”.

Richard’s family members include his beloved wife of 40 years Rosemary A. (Gollucci) Cayer of Methuen, his daughter Christine Desrochers of Methuen, his son Adam Cayer and his wife Bernie of Virginia Beach, VA. And his daughter Nancy Cordaro of Groveland, MA. He also leaves his brothers Donald Cayer and his wife Karen of Methuen, Robert Cayer and his wife Denise of Ormond Beach, FL., and his sisters Denise Landry and her husband Dan of Lowell and Anne Barcus and her husband Dan of Lowell. He also leaves five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Richard was predeceased by his parents Armand and Lillian Cayer of Lowell and his son Matthew Sheehy.

Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Monday November 13, 2023 from 10 am to Noon at the Dewhirst Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen. Funeral services will follow the calling hours at Noon on Monday at the funeral home. Burial in St Mary Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence will be private at a later date.
