Rene J. Lavoie – Methuen, MA

Lifelong Methuen resident, Rene J. Lavoie, 90, passed away peacefully at his home on April 28, 2025. 

Rene was a graduate of Central Catholic High School. He was employed by Malden Mills for many years in the 1960’s and 1970’s as a Machine Maintenance Mechanic. He retired from the City of Methuen as a Tree Department Supervisor.

Rene was an avid golfer and bowler. He and his wife travelled throughout the Northeast playing Bingo.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Jeanne (Leveille) Lavoie; siblings, Theresa Collier, Frank Lavoie and Louise Poley. He was predeceased by Jerry Lavoie and Jeanne Demers.  Rene leaves many, many nieces and nephews.  He will be sadly missed by all.

Calling hours will be 4 PM-6PM with a service at 6 PM on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at the Dewhirst Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen MA 01844.  Entombment will take place on Friday May 2, 2025 at the St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Mausoleum in Lawrence, MA.
