Ray Simmons – Methuen, MA

Ray Simmons, 73, of Methuen passed away unexpectedly at Holy Family Hospital on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 with family by his side.

Son of the late Fred and Edith (Wheeler) Simmons, Ray was born in Birmingham, Alabama on October 13, 1949. He grew up in Shirley, MA and was a graduate of Ayer High School. Ray was a proud Veteran who served in the U.S. Army and courageously fought for our country in Vietnam.  As an avid fisherman, Ray loved his annual bass fishing trips with his brothers.  He adored his grandchildren and spent countless hours at recitals, numerous sports fields and hockey rinks.

In addition to his parents, Ray is predeceased by his brother, Wayne of Alabama.

Ray leaves his loving wife Madeleine, children, Michael of Hudson, NH, Amy and husband Christian of Methuen, MA and Matt of Hollywood, FL.  He also leaves behind grandchildren, Ethan, Lauren, Julia, Rachel, Haley and Brody. His siblings Judy of Kissimmee FL, John and wife Joyce of Townsend, MA, Paul and wife Dianne of Glover, VT as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
