Pauline Dean Obituary

Pauline (Gosselin) Dean, daughter of Marie Ann and Wilfrid Gosselin, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on October 5, 2020 at the age of 86.

Born in Lawrence, MA. she attended St Theresa’s High School in Methuen graduating in the class of 1952.  Pauline married John “Jack” Dean of Lawrence, MA. on May 7, 1955 and this year celebrated their 65  th wedding anniversary.  They lived for several years in Lawrence and North Andover before moving to her family home in the Glen Forest area of Methuen where they raised their four children Linda, Nancy, Jacqueline, and Michael in a home filled with love.  When her children grew older, she worked for Catholic Charities in Lawrence and Lowell.

Pauline had wonderful lifelong friends who enriched her life immensely.  She devoted her life to family; caring for her many older relatives, raising her four children, and creating a warm and loving atmosphere to welcome her grandchildren for sleepovers, Easter egg hunts, and home-cooked meals with no vegetables. Pauline loved sitting on the swing with her two brothers sharing a beer, working in her garden, and hosting family celebrations.  As her children’s number one fan, she cheered at endless basketball, softball, and baseball games. Her children fondly remember bicycle rides to Stevens Pond, cookouts and swimming at the camp on Stiles Pond, ice cream at Glennie’s, summer beach vacations in Seabrook and the Cape, visits with Canadian relatives in La Durante, Sherbrooke and Quebec, and a month-long tour of Europe.  Pauline was predeceased by her two brothers William and Richard Gosselin whom she loved dearly.   Her family members include her husband Jack Dean, their children Linda Campbell, Nancy Beaulieu, Jackie Bolduc, and Michael Dean and their spouses Donald Campbell, Alan Beaulieu, Michael Bolduc, and Joan Dean. She also leaves nine beloved grandchildren Marie and Zachary Campbell; Michelle and Nicole Beaulieu; Jill, Benjamin, and Michael Bolduc; and Madison and Myles Dean as well as her sister-in-law Alice Gosselin; her three nieces Marian Korbey, Paula Flynn, Diana Alders and her great-nieces and great-nephews.
