Orin R. "Bob" Marsland

Orin R. (Bob) Marsland – Methuen, MA

Age 91 of Methuen passed away peacefully at his home on April 14th with his family by his side.  He was born in Lawrence, MA on October 28, 1929 the son of the late, James and Laura (Brousseau) Marsland.  He was raised in Lawrence and educated in Lawrence Schools.

Orin had worked at Canobie Lake Park, Curran & Joyce, Diamond Spring Brewery aka. Holihan’s Brewery, Ippolito’s Furniture Store and in the local area for several years until he retired.

He was a proud and loving man whose family meant the world to him. He loved all the family events and gatherings and watching his family grow. He was especially proud when around his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Orin was the widower of the late, Catherine Marsland of Methuen. He is survived by his son, Wayne A. Marsland and wife, Donna of Atkinson, NH, his daughter, Victoria A. E. Marsland of Methuen, his son, David R. Marsland and wife, Lynne of Salem, NH and his daughter, Christine M. Newby of Methuen. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his wife Catherine M. Marsland, his daughter; Nancy C. Marsland Carter, sister; Pauline Patient, brothers; Charles Marsland, William Marsland and James Marsland Jr., and his granddaughter, Sherri G. Carter Enaire.

The family would like to thank Compassionate Care Hospice of Woburn for their special care of Orin over these last several months.

Calling hours will be Monday April 19th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Dewhirst & Boles Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday April 20th at 11 am at the funeral home.  Burial will follow the service in the Bellevue Cemetery in Lawrence, MA.  Donations may be made to:  Compassionate Care Hospice at 800 W.
