Nancy Asadoorian

Nancy Asadoorian, 102, of Methuen, MA passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 5, 2023.  Nancy was born to Matthew and Nazenig Najarian in Boston, MA on December 16, 1920.   She was raised in Salem, NH and graduated from Woodbury High School as valedictorian of her class.  She then attended business and hairdressing schools.

Nancy worked as a hairdresser until children came along.  Later she was employed as a legal secretary, executive secretary, and a school secretary.  She also handled the business end of her husband’s businesses.

Nancy was an active member of Ararat Armenian Congregational Church in Salem, NH.  Among her many activities she sang in the choir, served as pastor’s secretary, and participated in fund raising activities.  After retirement Nancy shared her clerical skills by volunteering at Holy Family Hospital and the United Fund.

Nancy’s enjoyed music and dancing, travel, needlework, and time with family.  She loved to read, play Scrabble and cards, and challenged herself with crossword puzzles.

Nancy was predeceased by her husband Arthur, sisters Sarah and Pearl, and son-in-law, Charles.   She is survived by her daughters Judith Norton and Donna Davis and her husband, Glenn.  Grandchildren include Scott, Karyn, and Stephen Davis and Charles and Brian Norton. Nancy also had six great grandchildren –Kaila, Lindsay, Abigale, Ryan, Eli, and Alice and she also leaves her sister Lorraine.

Funeral services will be private.  Memorial contributions can be made in Nancy’s memory to the Ararat Armenian Congregational Church.
