Nancy L. Apkarian

Nancy Apkarian, 68 of Methuen passed away peacefully July 31, 2021, surrounded by her family after a courageous two-year battle with cancer.  

Nancy was an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. To know Nancy was to love her. She lit up a room with her smile and energy. She will continue to be known for her kindness and strength. Nancy built a beautiful life with her husband, children, and grandchildren with more love and happiness in a lifetime.

Nancy was a devoted employee at the Internal Revenue Service for 31 years. She worked her way up and stayed committed to her career, even through all of her treatments. She and her family were proud of her accomplishments. She worked until she was unable to which was a testament to her dedication and tenacity.

Nancy loved dancing the night away Saturday nights at the Fireside and hosting Sunday dinners with her family every week. Nancy’s sense of humor and her one liners are her trademark, embedded on her family. 

Nancy loved traveling to Aruba every year and enjoying a piece of paradise with her husband. 

She enjoyed getaways to Foxwoods, crafting, shopping, and accompanying her husband at car shows. She loved people. She had a gift for leaving her mark on everyone she met. Even during treatments, she always wanted to hear how others were doing and lift their spirits, all while battling her own sickness. 

She brought happiness and unconditional love to her family. She was the type of wife and mother that people pray for. She was a phenomenal grandmother and Mimi, always showering her grandchildren with love. She effortlessly had a way of making her family feel safe and cared for. She felt like home. A true genuine soul. 

Nancy will be deeply missed by her husband of 45 years, David Apkarian , her son David Apkarian of Methuen, Matthew Apkarian and his wife Brittany Apkarian of Londonderry, NH, and her daughter Amy Blount and her husband Donald Blount of Methuen. She also leaves behind 5 grandchildren, Kaylie, Morgan, Cassandra, Gabriel, Donald III, and her great-grandson, Malachi. 

Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in her memory may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Friends of Dana Farber, 450 Brookline Ave, SW 120, Boston, MA 02215.
