Mary Ann L. Arrigo

After a long-term struggle with Alzheimer's disease, Mary Ann has been called home at the age of 85. An avid reader since childhood, she was often seen with a book in one hand while twirling her hair with the other. She tended her vegetable garden for many years which provided fresh tomatoes and basil for her famous sauce. She continued gardening flowers for years; Daisies were her favorite. 

Having six children, she was usually at the center of activity in the kitchen cooking great meals for her family. She loved having visitors and conversations over coffee often included talk of her grandchildren, her pride and joy. She was always ready to help her six children. Whether traveling to England to be there for her son or loading up a rocking chair and driving across town in the middle of the night to rock her new grandchild so the parents could sleep. She also planned “The perfect wedding” for her daughter, which graced the cover of Wedding Magazine. Family was everything for Mary Ann.

She will be reunited with two of her children, Robert and Lynn, and missed by her four surviving children, Rick, Susan Welch, Chuck, and Chris. She has 22 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the American Cancer Society where she volunteered for many years.

Family and friends are invited to an hour of visitation from 10 am to 11 am on Tuesday December 20, 2022 at the Dewhirst Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen. Funeral Services will follow the visitation at 11:00 am on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery, Andover.
