Mary Della Cioppa

Mary Della Cioppa passed away peacefully on February 19, 2020 at Nevins Nursing and Rehabilitative Center, Methuen, Massachusetts where she had resided for the past few years.  Mary was married to David Della Cioppa on October 5, 1958, and they spent 44 years together, residing mostly in Salem, NH.

Mary was a graduate of Edward F Searles High School, Methuen. She went on to design school where she became a highly skilled seamstress. She worked for many years at Stride Rite as a stitcher; but it was her quilts and beautiful handmade items that were always in demand. Mary loved to draw and spent her time more recently coloring stunning pictures. She also enjoyed playing Bingo with her dear friend Grace at the Nevins and earlier at Salem Senior Center and Methuen Village. Mary loved family gatherings and hosted many Christmas and Easter dinners for her family, which were always memorable.

She was a former member of Holy Cross Armenian Apostolic Church in Lawrence and is currently a member of Ararat Congregational Church in Salem. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to either church.

Mary was predeceased by her husband David and her mother, Sarah (Vartanian) Donigian, her father, Thomas Donigian, sisters Margaret Donigian, Beatrice Naroian and Selma Poitras, brother Jacob Donigian and nephew Richard Naroian.  Her family members include her sister-in-law Nancy Donigian of Methuen who was devoted to Mary for many years. She also leaves her nephew James Naroian of Hillsboro NH, nephew John Donigian of Northport NY, neice Christine Donigian Tisbert of Methuen and Barbara Naroian , wife of Richard of Methuen. Mary also has ten great nieces and great nephews. Mary will be remembered as a beloved aunt by all of her family.
