Mark C. Armstrong, 61, of Methuen passed away unexpectedly on Friday January 30, 2026 at his home. Born on July 20, 1964, in Salem, Massachusetts, the son of late Robert and Betty Ann Armstrong of Danvers, MA, Mark was a lifelong Massachusetts resident who built a life rooted in hard work, family, and quiet devotion.
Mark spent over 30 years doing what he knew best; working as an auto technician at Drum Hill Ford in Lowell, MA. He took pride in his work, had a deep knowledge of his craft, and was someone people trusted with both their cars and their time. For Mark, showing up every day and doing the job right mattered.
Above all else, Mark loved his family. He was deeply devoted to his wife, Ruth B. (Bamford) Armstrong endlessly proud of his three daughters, Caitlin E. Guilmette and her husband James J. Guilmette, Samantha E. Armstrong and her fiancé Clinton D. Towle, and Madison E. Armstrong. One of his greatest joys was being “Grampy” to his grandsons, Silas G. Towle and Peter T. Towle, who brought him immeasurable happiness.
Mark also had a lifelong soft spot for cats and shared his home and heart with many over the years, especially Skittles, Tuukka, Milo, and Stella, who were very much part of the family.
He is also survived by his sister, Kathy A. (Armstrong) Hussey and her husband Mark C. Hussey, and their children, Jackie O. Hussey and Bryan S. Hussey, as well as many cousins and aunts and uncles.
Mark will be remembered for his steady presence, his dedication to the people he loved, and the quiet ways he showed he cared. He leaves behind a family who loved him deeply and will carry his memory forward always.
A private service for immediate family will be held, with a celebration of life to be announced at a future date.
