Marion Riddick Obituary

Marion L. Riddick was born on March 29, 1941 to the late Richard L. Jones and Elizabeth M. (Ferguson) Jones in Gatesville, NC. She was called home to glory on April 11th, 2025 at Lawrence General Hospital where she was surrounded by her family and loved ones.

She was educated in the North Carolina School system where she attended Buckland Elementary School and graduated from Central High School in Gatesville, NC. On July 21, 1962, she married the love of her life, Charlie “Bruce” Riddick. Marion and Bruce were married for 62 wonderful years that grew and expanded to four generations.

Marion worked at Raytheon Company in Andover, MA for almost 27 years, until she retired in 2002. She was a member of the Third Baptist Church in Lawrence, MA for many years and until her passing was a longtime member of New Life Christian Ministries in Lowell, MA. She was an Ordained Deacon, a dedicated choir member and active in many ministries in her church. Marion's love of the Lord was apparent to all who knew her and that love will continue to be felt for many years to come.

Marion is survived by her devoted husband Bruce of Methuen, MA, her son Brian B. Riddick and his fiance Ileana Atiery-Pastor of Nashua, NH, her daughter Debra A. Riddick of Methuen, MA, her grandson Donell J. Riddick of Methuen, MA and three great-granddaughters, Savannah, Sonya and Symone Hawkins of Lowell, MA, her loving brother Roy R. Jones, of Snellville, GA, her cousin Flora Beamon of Newport News, VA whom she was raised with as a sister, her sisters-in-law Ola M. (Richard) Brown, Mary A. Baker, Helen (Charlie) Hardie, Doris Riddick, Cleo Knight and Cynthia (Raymond) Hall, Elsie Riddick, brother-in-law Ernest Douglas, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, the many who called her Mom and her dear lifelong friends who meant so very much to her.
Marion was preceded in death by her sister Annie B. Cain and her brother Richard J. Jones, her in-laws Joseph and Willie Cleo Riddick, brothers and sisters-in-law Joseph S. (Jessie) Riddick, Jr., William A. Riddick, Bessie Douglas, Delmar Riddick, Delois Hall and Willie Baker Sr.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours on Monday April 21, 2025 from 10 am to 11:30 am at Calvary Baptist Church, 60 Hastings St., Lowell, MA. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 11:30 am on Monday at the church. Burial in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen will be private.
