Marion D. Lavoie – Andover, MA
Marion D. Lavoie, 84, of Lawrence, MA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 5, 2023. She was born May 2, 1939, in Lawrence, MA, the daughter of the late Michael F. Donovan and Marion (Bosse) Donovan. Mrs. Lavoie was a 1957 graduate of Methuen High School in Methuen, MA.
Marion worked for GE until starting her family in 1967. She and her late husband Bob owned Bob’s Scout Supplies in Lawrence until retirement in 2005.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Lavoie Sr. Marion is survived by her children, Mary Lovely and her husband, John, of Fremont, NH; Robert Lavoie, Jr. and his wife, Laura, of Springfield, OH; Karen Lavoie, of Andover, MA, Denise Lazdowski and her husband, Eric, of Wildwood, FL; and Jean Lavoie and her husband, Steve Aiken, of Tampa, FL; her grandchildren, Nicholas Lavoie, Claire Lavoie and her husband Alex Cea, Madison Lovely, Emmaline Lavoie, Tyler Lovely and Sarah Lazdowski; and her sister Constance Donovan and her husband Steven Krajsovszki, of Hamden, CT.
Marion loved spending time with her family and friends, reading, traveling, and especially spending time at Salisbury Beach. The Lavoie family wishes to extend a special thank you to the various caregivers in the medical community, especially the ICU team at Holy Family Hospital in Haverhill, MA for their compassionate care of Marion during her illness.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 from 4-6PM at Dewhirst Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Rosary Shrine, 28 Union St., Lawrence, MA at 11AM on Thursday, November 9, 2023. Burial will follow the Mass in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Andover. All arrangements are under the direction of the Dewhirst Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.
