Marilyn L. Briggs

 Mrs. Marilyn (Quance) Briggs, 91, of Methuen passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 29, 2021, at her home, with her daughter by her side.

She was born January 28, 1930, in Fall River, MA to the late Arthur and Etty Quance.

She spent most of her life living in Methuen. She was a devoted wife and mother. She also enjoyed needle point, sewing, creative crafts and was an avid reader.

In addition to her parents, Marilyn was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Franklin Briggs, her brother Earl Quance and his wife June, and her daughter-in-law Norma (Crane) Briggs.

She is survived by her sister Pauline (Quance) Hargreaves and her husband George of Methuen, MA, her three children, William Briggs and his wife Beverly of Salem, NH, Robert Briggs and his wife Sheryl of Olin, NC, and Sandra Briggs of Methuen, MA, five grandchildren, Jennifer (Briggs) Nolin, Benjamin Briggs, Noel Briggs, Adam Briggs, and Meghanne Briggs, eight great-grandchildren, Jackson Briggs, Austin Briggs, Kevin Dufrense, Tristan Briggs, Adela Mayka-Briggs, Aurelia Mayka-Briggs, Tucker Bamberg, and Vera Bamberg, as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their sincere thank you to Care Dimensions Hospice for showing such love and care and making her last weeks comfortable.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in Marilyn’s name to Care Dimensions Hospice, 75 Sylvan St. Danvers, MA O1923.

An hour of visitation will be on Tuesday August 3, 2021 from 10 am to 11 am at The Dewhirst & Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen. A celebration of life service, with the Rev. Robert Briggs officiating, will follow the visitation at 11:00 am on Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen.
