Marie Rose E. Heymans, 87, of Methuen Massachusetts passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday September 18, 2025.
Daughter of Albenie and Ethel Menard, Rose was born and raised in Lawrence, Massachusetts. She graduated from Saint Ann’s High School and then worked as an accountant for Mallen & Company. Rose united in great love with her husband Francis “Frank” Heymans in 1960 and was a dedicated wife throughout their marriage of 59 years until he went home to God in 2020. Friends and family would always want “Rose & Frank” to be part of their life celebrations because of the love and energy they brought together.
Rose was the proud mother of two boys, James “Jim” Dennis Heymans of Methuen, Massachusetts and John Francis Heymans of Atkinson, New Hampshire. As a homemaker, she was intimately involved in their lives, providing constant love and support. There was nothing more in life she enjoyed than spending time with her boys.
She loved being with children and experiencing their joy. She was very close to her grandchildren Elysha McMahon of Bradford, Massachusetts and Evan Heymans of Fremont, New Hampshire and loved it when her great-grandchildren Zachary, Connor, Lukas, Levi, Chloe and Nathaniel would come to visit and play. She would put anything in the world aside to spend time with her family.
Rose loved everyone she met and when you met her for the first time, you instantly experienced her authenticity. Her love and attention to the details in each person’s life was infectious and entirely unconditional. Rose was a faithful Catholic and prayed fervently for her family and friends. She was so loving and giving and so often chose the needs of others before her own.
Rose will be remembered for her big heart and deep love for others, genuine smile and endless energy. She enjoyed attending Mass at St. Monica’s Church, gardening, the White Mountains of New Hampshire and spending time with her friends who she referred to as the “girls”. She was inseparable from her sister Cecile Cote of Methuen, Massachusetts and she loved her nieces, nephews and godchildren like her own.
She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the many people who came to know and love her over the years. She longed to be reunited with her husband, Frank, who she missed dearly, and life was not the same without.
The family is asking for Rose to be remembered through prayers and mass intentions.
Services will be private. Arrangements are by the Dewhirst Boles Funeral Home 80 Broadway, Methuen. To leave an online condolence, please visit Rose’s tribute page at www.dewhirstbolesfuneral.com.
